Most occupation contrcts forbid contract holders to rent a room to a lodger. However, sometimes this may be desirable – for example, if there is a spare room at the property and the contract holder is struggling to pay rent. Although you need to take care that allowing a lodger will not put you in breach of your mortgage or property insurance policy or turn your property into a ‘House in Multiple Occupation’ (you may want to check this before purchase). This pack includes a permission form which will protect the landlord and amend the occupation contraact, along with full instructions, and a lodger agreement form for the contract holder to use.
